Mineralogy and geology collections

The mineralogy and geology collections of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle include over 4,000 meteorites, nearly 24,000 igneous and metamorphic rocks, 500,000 sedimentary rocks, 138,000 minerals and gems and over 8.5 km of ocean sediment core samples.
